International students

The Office of Academic Advising also provides services to assist F-1, F-2, J-1, and J-2 students with immigration services at Rutgers University-Camden Campus. The following services are available to international students:

A New International Student Orientation is planned each semester to assist new students with making their transition into the U.S.
Assistance with forms and documentation for school and employment purposes.
Advisement and preparation of paperwork required for optional practical training (OPT) and curricular practical training (CPT).
Endorsement of the necessary documents for travel outside of the U.S.
Workshops are provided to assist students with problems or concerns related to immigration, employment, social and personal adjustments to the university.
Ongoing dissemination of information to help students maintain their visa status within the U.S.

It is important that international students keep their contact information current in the Rutgers system. If there are any changes to personal or academic information while in the U.S., these changes MUST be reported to Dean Thurman (coordinator of international services for the RU-Camden campus) immediately. International students are encouraged to meet with Dean Thurman every semester to ensure that he or she is in compliance with immigration regulations.
